I'd also agree with the sentiment here, but I think we can all agree that as far as search-functions go, the one on this site is just terrible. I typically get frustrated as hell trying to find information I'm looking for, but I go through it anyway so I don't get flamed with "Search." posts in response to my questions.

I didn't mean for this thread to go sooooo off topic. My apoligies. But I do agree that the search function blows. I've never been happy with the search function on any vbulletin boards. It's a design flaw in the software.

Regardless, I don't mean to come off as being so hostile. I'm a computer programmer, and I've worked with all sorts of people. Some guys will search and search, and only ask a question after they've been unable to answer it themselves. Then you've got guys that ask questions without doing any research whatsoever. These latter types of folks are either lazy, or honestly don't have the skills to educate themselves. I have little tolerance for either. I spend several hours each day doing nothing but solving various technical problems, often with tools or technologies that I have little experience with. A good portion of that time is spent educating myself. Over the years, this self reliance has eroded whatever patience I used to have.

And I'm not opposed to asking questions. If a guy comes in here asking a specific question like "I don't have the factory service manual; what size socket do I need to install a sway bar?", then that's cool. But the general questions, like "what's the best intake", or "what's your mpg" are just repeated over and over and over. And the question of if anyone has ever modded a leased coupe is just rediculous in the extreme to me. That's like asking if anyone has ever dyno'd a car. A little logic goes a long way.

Sorry for the rant.

Its common sense, why would you waste 30 mins of your time looking through a ton of pages that might not have the info you need, when you can just spend 1 minute by asking the question. The search in this forum is pretty useless. If it bothers you that much about him asking a question that has been reposted, it might be giving you a hint that you spend too much time online(hence you read all the threads, you have been here much longer.)

Edit, sorry i just read your last thread.
