Reader's Digest version:

As you know I picked up a boat last month. I am keeping it on a friends lift while his boat is in the shop, but need to find a perm place to keep it. Hence my options...

a) Sell the trailer, pay to bottom paint the boat, pay to rent dock space monthly. Boat is always on the water - most convenient for boating but I cant take the boat anywhere far.

b) Keep the trailer, pay storage fee in a secure boat yard to keep the boat on the trailer. I have to launch it every time, but I can also take it to the west coast, keys, etc. To do this I either have to trade my car for something that can tow 7000 lbs, or...

Buy an older SUV/truck and lease a G, having 2 cars for the same monthly payment I have now.

Love em. Stock for stock my 04 6MT (18" rims) rode much better (firmer, lower = more stable at higher speeds) than my 05 (19""rims). The springs dropped it the 1/2 in and firmed up the ride, feels MUCH better in turns and at higher speeds.

4. Miles per year?

Thanks!
Ok, here's a lease quote I got on a 06 coupe with Premium/Tire&Wheel/XM:

MSRP: 38140
Invoice: 34850
Selling Price: $34550 ($300 below invoice)
12 month lease/12K miles
Monthly payment: $366 (includes 7.75% tax)
Total Driveoff: $1333 (No down payment, just Acq fee $550, 1st payment, regist, etc.)
Residual should be 83% for 12K, base money factor is 0.00149

I got the same total as the dealer I'm dealing with. So they aren't trying to screw me with the price

thats a really good price. best i could do was 300 over invoice. they gave me BS that 6MT cant be sold at invoice.

interesting you went with the 12 month lease. that one time fixed cost of 550 for acq was too much to pay for just 12 month term.

What was the selling price of the car? Did you get it at invoice? I'm being quoted right now at $300 below invoice.
