I did exactly two turns (marked the rod with a felt marker) this was the perfect amount for me - and did not require the Cruise switch to be adjusted either...

Best 10 minute mod ever!! I'm not sure how far I adjusted mine since I was doing it in 1/8 turns or so with a pair of pliers, but mine engages about 1.5 inches off the floor. No problem with cruise control or anything!
