Accident, please help
Hey,
I got into an accident today. I was driving and I ended up sliding sideways (no control over the car) and the left side of my car hit the curb and went up on it. So my left rear wheel is bent inwards (the left rear axle is bent) and possibly some other left rear crap...maybe the shock is damaged and there is some scrapes underneath. Surprisingly my tires and rims remained in tact and are clean (some scratches on the left rear wheel, of course). Does anyone know if it's expensive to have the left rear axle replaced or repaired or whatever needs to be done? That is the only damage (aside from the wheel scratches) that my car has experienced.

It was a turn, and I floored it and the rear wheels spun like crazy and I ended up spinning out. I had the traction control off...not because I think I am Superman, but because as you guys all know, if you take the car to redline and go from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, you get wheelspin, and the traction control interferes and ruins you. Normally, I prefer it on as I really feel it would have saved my *** in this case.

Sorry to hear about your accident and glad you are OK. WIth all that independent aluminum stuff back there it will more than likely be expensive and if you claim on your insurance it will count as an "At Fault" accident even though no one else was involved.
Not trying to "Blast" you but flooring it in a corner was not too smart, with or without the VDC on.

Re: Accident, please help
Thanks for the support, guys. After it all happened, this guy came running out of his garage sscreaming "MOTHERF*CKERS!!!" (I was with my friend). He didn't even see sh*t and he was like all heated over nothing...I didn't roll up onto his curb or endanger anyone, except for myself. I didn't mean to floor it into the turn, I just got all high on the adrenaline or whatever...pedal to the metal is ADDICTIVE in this car, and it ruined me. So we had to bounce with my left rear axle all trucked up. Parked in a hidden sidestreet, called up Infiniti Roadside Assistance, tow truck arrived in like 15 minutes (mad fast if you ask me), and dropped it off at my local Infiniti dealership. I feel so depressed and sad right now... I hurt my car (only 2,350 miles) from some stupid pleasure drive. I hope they can repair my car ASAP so I can get back on the road. While I was driving on my street (trying desparately to get back home), with my car all lop-sided and sh*t with the rear wheel bent inwards, I was still able to get nice attention from this young female jogging on my street....or maybe she was just smiling/laughing that my tires were howling and my left rear wheel was bent inwards, etc. etc.

Not to scare you but it’s gonna cost a few thousand $$$ to fix and probably be in the shop for a couple of days to fix it. Do you have any pics of the damage?

Sigh. The tow-truck driver said the left rear axle is shot and he said he can't really say, but his guess was anywhere from a few hundred to about a thousand for that left rear axle. I wanted to take digital pics badly, but everything was kind of hectic and I just wanted to get the car to a dealership ASAP. It was easy to see the problem...the left rear axle...it looked like a 1-foot-long bar, it's supposed to be straight, but it was bent in.

Thanks for the link, FD. Oh yeah, and I didn't even notice that "Curb hopper" thing...it's kinda hot, I wanna keep it.
But seriously, pestilence's repairs were $8K!!!!!!!!!!! I don't need new rims or tires, but that's still mad money. I am in the same exact boat as he is in. My left rear wheel, the upper part is sticking out and the lower part is sticking in. I can totally relate to pestilence, too because it was such a stupid thing to happen !! I was just out for a harmless little drive and this crap happens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The worst thing is that the suspension won't be back to 100% after this. 2,300 miles and I've permanently trucked it up already. All my cleaning and washing and garage parking has been worthless thanks to today...I feel like the worst G35C owner in the world. =(

No body damage and once they replace all the parts with new. Your ride will be 100% again, so don't stress. Once it is done and you start driving again you will start forgetting your incident, don't forget too much though.
Pesti's ride looks sweet now with the GILA body kit and other owrk he has done lately.
"Don't worry, be happy" you are not hurt and will live to drive your "G" again soon.

I don't mean to scare you, but your car will never be 100% again.. it'l be close, but not 100%. About a year ago in my G ride (Different G ) My car spun out in the rain and i ran over a highway island going 55, sideways. I [censored] up my Front Rim (collapsed) and destroyed my rear axel. They changed everything, but even now, i can still hear a tiny grinding when i make turns. That, and because it is a shitty car overall.. is why I'm making the upgrade to the G35. btw.. i have a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant... NEVER BUY A MITSU! IT'S LIKE BUYIN A FORD.

Re: Accident, please help
Thanks guys.
I have to pay for the repairs as my parents don't want to go through insurance. My case is very similar to pestilence's, so I am estimating around $5K to $6K worth of repairs (I don't need new rims or tires, so that saves me around $2K). Looks like I gotta take up a week-end job, which is very gay. College during the week, job during the week-end....all work and no play makes MrElussive a dull boy.
