It would cost less to just drive, but would it be safe for the car? how long should i drive it before giving it a rest? i was planning on driving it straight without sleeping.. just pit stops.. but now, i think im going to sleep like 3 days and go slow.

So, would it be safe for the g to be driven cross country? it's a 06 coupe, with 1800 mi on it... i did one oil change at 1414. And does it usually take that long to ship the car? thanks for your help.
hahaha is it safe...i dont think sooo u might want to stop every 25 min and let your car cool off

it will be fine, believe it or not the engine is pretty much broken in off the factory through testing and other things, its mostly your suspension and bearings n other stuff that need the breaking in. i think youll be fine, i drove to northern cali and back from so-cal and my cars had no problems

i suggest painters tape because the look on peopes faces is priceless when they see it. yes, the 3m blue painters tape. you could get the nosemask/bra too, but the painters tape is more fun.

as they said, get an oil change before and probably when u get there. hopefully no one will mess with ur car while ur at school... u are in college after all...

Ive done the FL to Jersey trip twice....the car is seriously amazing. Do the oil change before you leave, and after you arrive. On very light traffic, just put the car in 6th, set ur cruise to 85mph, and just cruuuuuise, you'll be fine. G's are made to be driven...the VQ is a great motor

At a minimum you would need to have another oil change.
It would FAR cheaper to drive the car. A coworker owns a transport company and to ship a car that far will be close to $1000. My G35 sedan has done trips from Kansas City to Atlanta (950 mi) and St. Augustine, FL (1,200 mi). With a very full load, the car averages a solid 28mpgs at ~75mph. Sometimes approaching 30mpg. Figuring 3000 miles, 3.20 gal, and averaging 27mpgs, he would spend about $360 for fuel and $300 in expenses if he spent the night at 2 hotels and used $30 a day in food. If he flew and transported, he'd be out at least $300 for a plane ticket, $1,000 for transport, plus rental car money while he waits for his car to be delivered. Also, I'd much rahter risk me driving my car other than having some transporter handling it. As for brakes and wear and tear, braking on the highway is totally insignificant. Change the oil and check the tire psi. He should be good to go.

dont go to a dealer to install teh clearbra, unless you want to get ripped off. go to a clearbra dealer. use the money from the flight / shipping you would have spent on a clear bra and some mods...

if you dont want to dish out for a clear bra, you should get a leather bra for trips, such as this one.
