I called my dealer and he said " it's normal because it's brand new car. don't worry.." Is this true??
Also I could see a little smoke on the hood and it was very hot around headlight...

Somewhat normal for a new car but the smoke is odd. I would run it with the hood open and look for the source. Maybe some spilled fluids.

well you are supposed to keep it under 5k. Breakin period is pretty important.

What if you pass 5k on accident a few times? What will happen?

Nothing will happen if you go over 5k. Different people have different threorys on break in periods.

06 6MT here, all sorts of smells. So far none of them is burnt rubber though but I'm sure it'll happen soon enough.

i had smoke when mine was less than 1000 miles, a lot one time when i stopped right after driving kinda fast. just make sure you drive around slow for a bit to let it cool down if you have to drive it fast.

Don't sweat the smoke and burning - it's all the little tags and labels and the coatings on all of the engine components getting burnt off. I miss it too!

ppo are too worried about this break in period.. there is no way a manufacturer will send off a car they have not broken in themselves... if that was the case... so many new cars would have problems because most ppo do not understand the importance of breaking in the motor. also if i remember right, the owners manual says to keep it uder 4k.

as to the burning smell... there are chemials on new motors that do actually burn off... i was test driving an RSX-Type S just because i was at the dealer and boy did that thing smoke and smell after.. the internet sales manager was like thats completely normal...
