I'm coming up on the end if my 3yrs/30k miles for my brake warranty.
I hate the fact that the pads don't last and all the brake dust!
So was wondering what other 03/04 drivers have done about that? (only concerned about the front)
Any upgrades recommended? (not looking to spend a grip)
Any simple solutions?
Thanks in advance for any help.
also....let me clarfiy, this is for the non-brembo G owners.

Other than my dust, mine has been holding up. Just went over 35 months, 30K miles, and haven't had to replace pads yet.

Have 55K on original Brembos but I do have some hawk pads and nice slotted cristo rotors that will replace the front soon, the rear look like new. I wouldn't worry too much, parts are not expensive and the job is so easy there is no real need to pay to have it done.

I have 04 non-Brembo---I went with Project Mu NS pads. I've had them for about 1000 miles and love how they feel/perform. The brake dust is VASTLY reduced. Highly recommended...

I had the dealer change out the pads for OEMs while still under the warranty and those OEMs do dust a lot. As soon as it's time to change, ceramic brake pads are definitely the way to go for low brake dust, and they're not that expensive. Go to Tirerack.com.

My experience with Hawks is they are really loud. other than that they are a great pad. I don't know if they offer pads for non-brembo (i don't see why not), but Pagid pads are doing INCREDIBLE for me. but then again I have brembo calipers and slotted rotors with steel-braided lines. I have never experienced brake fade with this setup, either on track or off.

Do you race on a track? What's your biggest beef with the pads (dust or wear)?
I don't race, and I love my '05 brakes! 3 weeks after a wash and no visible brake dust. Wash easily with just soap and water (mostly just rinse off). I've never had pads that are this user friendly. I'm under 15K now so I can't comment on wear yet. All that to ask another question: does anyone know how much it would cost to upgrade to '05 brakes? Yeah, they aren't Brembo's, but if you don't race you will only miss the bling. Street performance is great. With that said, cost might be too prohibitive. Too bad you can't get new pads for yours in the new compound from '05. I would say that would be a good compromise.

Just under 20K on mine. I hit 3 years on Oct. 24 this year. At 19K dealer checked them, they were down to 5mm.
Service writer said they would be replaced free at 3mm. Said they have replaced some for free that were close to 3mm. So now I am driving more and trying to use them a lot.
Will definitely switch to after market when the next ones go, or these if I don't make the warranty.
