My 03 5AT with 48k miles squeaks the breaks on cold starts but goes away after 1-2 minutes of driving. I tried cleaning the brakes but it didnt work. Any idea how I can get rid of it? I am sure this is not normal, these brakes are NOT brembos and I doubt they squeaked from the factory

did you change your brakes recently?. It might be the sensors saying that they are due for a change.

 

hey man my brakes did the same thing when I had 21000 miles on the car, (by the way mine's 03 5AT too), well I ignored the squeaks for about two weeks then the 'braking' light came on and off, still, I was really busy and couldn't deal with it for like another week or two, then the worst happened, whenever I brake it'll screech so loud that I really felt embarrassed driving it on the street...well I took it to the mechanic and yeah...the rear brakes were due for replacement. Anyways, just check with a mechanic and have them replaced~
