The TLs biggest enemy is FWD.
The RX-8s biggest enemy is no low end torque.
It takes a much better driver to max out the potential of these vehicles than it does for the G.
As regards the 5AT vs 6MT argument- do a search, this has been debated much before.
There are a few people who have posted timeslips- bone stock of 14.2 runs in the Auto. There is also a video of the 5AT beating a 6MT off the line. The fact of the matter is that the cars are too close to say that one is clearly advantaged over the other. According to the numbers, a perfect stock MT driver will normally beat a stock perfectly driven AT by about 3 cars in the quarter mile.
I have seen too many multiple runs in which the two have split results.
I ran against an MT in one run and we were neck and neck. A second run and I beat him. I was stock at the time and he had a CAI. That's why I didn't buy a CAI.

RX-8 might not have a lot of power but its almost 500lbs lighter and the TL is no slouch.
On the highway the G35 and TL are about even and if kept above 5,000 RPM you wont shake the RX-8 either.
The G35 is no rocketship - the way people in this forum seem to downplay the abilities of some of our closest competitors (330, TL, RX-8 - stock vs. stock) is just plain ignorant sometimes.
No matter how you slice it, these cars are so close performance-wise that it will almost always be a drivers race.

haha sweet info...my friend with a TL always wants to race me...but either we both have no time to **** around with our cars...but what ever..haha ill just let him see this thread so he can shut up haha
