carbon fiber hoods?

if you get one is it mandatory you get a set of hood pins?some people have told me since you have a lighter hood now that it is more prone to dislodge from the latch and fly up..any validity to this?

yes get some pins not unless you want a broken window and mingle roof. my friend was doing 40 only and his carbon fiber hood poped up.

some1 with a G had the hood pop-open, but i think they only had hood pins.

ive seen a few g's without hood pins and they seem to be fine..ive heard cf hoods arent THAT much lighter than the oem hoods anyway..but i cant speak first hand so dont hold me to that

My friend has one on his e36 328 w/o hood pins and he has never had a problem. Its been on the car for a year now.
