Uneven tire wear on 05?
Has anyone experienced uneven tire wear on their 05 coupes? I was dealing with alot more road noise then usual from the right side. So I brought it to the dealer, and they did change out a bearing. However, they said the noise would still be there because of uneven tire wear. I'm really hoping there is some kind of TSB out for this. The tires only have about 15k miles on it. Any ideas?
Thanks

Yes feathering on the coupes is prevalent in some cars. Mine too. Infiniti has not stepped up to help deal with it.
The partial solution is to have frequent alignments keeping the car well within specs. However once the feathering has started the noise that accompanies it cannot be corrected.
15k miles is pretty good. I have 14k on my rears and they are done. I expect to get another 2k or so out of my fronts.

Wow, that's crazy that Infiniti won't budge on this problem. I thought the feathering issue was only prevalent on the earlier model 350z and G35s. Is there anyway I can complain to the dealer and get this fixed?

I've sent the Infiniti Consumer Affairs complaints about other things, however nothing has amounted from that. Not to sound naive, but how can Infiniti not respond to this issue, as it directly ties in to the performance, and maintenance of their vehicle. Thanks for the additional information - esp bocatrip.

i just took off my 2 front tires and i have the same problem, why doest infinti just build adj front camber kits? and just install them for free and solve the problem. well i am in the Marine Corps and there is a saying "it makes to much sence" so we always do it the way that it dont. that sucks if you have tires rated for 30,000 miles but can only get 15,000. i have the sport tuned suspention with the 19" wheels, you have to have some deep pockets for 19" tires.

As fruitless as it does seem, it is probably helpful to file a complaint with Infiniti Consumer affairs so that you have a paper trail. Now, if you still own your car for a number of years and it is out of warranty, and then out of the blue Infiniti decides on doing something about our horrible front ends, you might have a leg to stand on. Am I dreaming?????
Yeah. This topic has been beaten to death, but here's my input.
I really don't think it's the camber of the tires that is the main crux of the problem. It's the caster. If you ever turn your steering wheel full tilt and look at the tire, the tire tips in more. That's the caster of the suspension that causes it. Now, that's great if you're going around a corner fast enough to load the suspension and get the tire to sit flat, but most of us don't drive around the corner fast like that, so everytime we take a slow corner, the inside edge of the tire takes the brunt of the wear. In the end, we get uneven tire wear and some feathering.
To take caster out of a suspension will require some MAJOR retooling. You can't adjust it by loosening some bolts and moving it a bit. Most of the time, it's fixed to the chassis and thus no adjustments can be made.
It is annoying, and I will agree that Nissan should take some of the aggressiveness out of the suspension design, but then again it is a performance car. Stiff suspension with aggressive suspension design will not be gentle on tires.
