Wow... old thread...

I would rather have an 03-04 with the tape player. This way i can use the cassette adapter and use my iPod to connect instead of loading mp3 disks.

Things i hate about the 05 Bose system:

-HU doesn't scroll track info like RDS. If RDS can do it, why not info that's written on the disc??????

-Random isn't really random. If you let the song play through, it'll go to another track on the disc... if you don't like the song, you hit up or down, you get the next song that's in sequential order. What kinda ghey **** is that??

-Bass sucks donkeyballs in the coupes. Sedans sound so much better.

-There's no mute/pause button. Yes i know i can turn it off and back on... but then i gotta wait for the CD to load again.

However, this is not a rant that in such a way says i want to trade anyone for their 03-04 system

 

I have an 05 Premium HU FS if anyone with 03-04 is daring enough to swap. I don't think anyone has successfully done it, as there is an issue with getting the A/C controller to function.

 

wait whats an mp3 cd? does it jus hold more songs?

 

A data CD with with MP3's (still compressed) burned on to it. One CD will hold ~150 songs. BTW most home DVD players can read these as well.

 

the # of songs do not matter, its how big the file is. typical CD hold 700mb of "data". The better sound quality it is, the less songs you can fit

 

If I end up getting a 04, I'm getting a touch screen with USB and Aux port. So I can use my Zune, or one of my USB's.

I'll probably go after market anyway to accommodate my subs better.
