Not worth fixing.....that's a big a** nail!

If anyone looked at the picture the nail is below the
red dot. Patching the sidewall on tires isn't smart
because they flex. A "GOOD" tire shop will not patch
this tire...........be safe, buy a new tire!

Somebody vandalized your car! It looks like somebody hammered or took a nail gun to your tire. You said somebody stole your rims and tires previously?? If so you need to move out the ghetto or park your car somewhere else.

In case you guys didn't read, he said that ISN'T his tire. It's someone else's tire but his went in to where the red dot is. In any case, it's very close to the sidewall.

Same thing happened to me last month. I had a small piece of steel sticking out of my rear Michelin Pilot Sport. There was no way to repair it since it was on the sidewall area which makes contact with the road.

Since my tires had close to 26,000 miles, I decided to replace them all.

I wouldn't trust any tire that was repaired on the side/sidewall area. Just not worth the risk of total failure/blowout.

And on the plus side, my car rides nice and quiet again (at least as far as summer performance tires go)

That definitely needs a replacement. I had one in the sidewall but not as bad as yours and it had to be replaced. Sucks but better safe than sorry.

The location of that red dot is considered a road hazard. No shop in their right mind would offer to fix it. It presents itself to be a liabilty for the repair shop, the user and for the rest of the people on the road. Unfortunately, you will need to get a new tire. I had this very same experience with my passenger front tire some 3 months ago.

He said nothing in the first posting about the picture
being of someone elses tire! It's still to close to the
sidewall to be patched. I had this same thing happen
to a new tire on my wifes Vet....the tire was a throw
away. Like I said before a good tires shop won't
patch a break/nail in the sidewall!

I thought the same thing. I was like that is IN the sidewall!!

That dot is the 50/50 area where the garages will tell you that they don't advise plugging it. I'd agree. Sorry to hear

I had one in the tread a few months ago. Got it plugged.
