Re: Jersey G's at the track!!!

It was a blast, I did much better this time with best 14.469 @ 97.61mph and 2.399 60ft time. The problem is my launch I keep spinning the tires like mad. I should be running 13.9 with my setup, now im definatelly getting new rubber for the rears. Again it was fun, I got 5 runs in Great to see everybody again. And whats up with island on friday ??

Attached a pic of me spinning the rubber going for my 14.4

You Jersey guys/gals have all the fun! I can't really find anyone around here to go to the track with. Too bad Jersey and Virginia are soooo far apart.

Re: Jersey G's at the track!!!

You guys should go next Wed (Oct 22) to Englishtown.

A few guys with Mustangs (mostly stock) that I know are running there. Wednesday night is much better than Friday night at E-town, because you can usually get many more runs in. Plus, it's a test and tune night... no time consuming bracket racing.

Anyone want to go?

I will go wed if I can break my new clutch in on-time. I have to get 500 miles on it before I bring it down the track.

Sounds good to me. I wish there was a cheap mod I can do in order to get in the 13's

Re: Jersey G's at the track!!!

Are you 6MT drivers pulling the ABS/VDC fuse to do burnouts to warm up your tires?

What are your launching techniques? I wanted to go to this, but postseason baseball has me occupied most evenings. What's the atmosphere like down there? Are people usually nice and give advice to newbies? I don't want to get laughed at when I run mid 15s.

Re: Jersey G's at the track!!!

Drag racers are like a big family.... really. If you ask, you'll get a ton of advice on getting good times.

You'll learn how to stage shallow (for the best ET) or deep for the best reaction time.... you'll get tips like staying away from the water box with street tires.... and how to play with tire pressures etc.... all kinds of stuff.

If anyone wants to show up Wed (Oct 22) at Englishtown, just let us know. I'll definitely be there.
