Just bought this SC G35

hey fellas, newbie to the this forum. I been talking to this guy about this SC g35 and Im really liking it. I know its kinda risky buying a car like this without knowing how its been treated and so on, but I offered the guy 24.5, he accepted and I sent him a $500 deposit. Im flying down to look at the car this Fri to decide if Im going to get it or not. I would love to hear what you guys think.

Heres a little history- the car is tuned mildly at 4 psi and from what the dealer said the car doesnt have a single problem. they told me I could get it inspected at any shop and get any test done to the car to make sure everything is the way its suppose to be. The car has a Zeitronics wideband afm, besided psi being 4 what should the other specs on the display should I note, i remember reading something about the air fuel ration being under 11, what should the numbers be???

My question, is what should I look for when i get there as far as engine condition and sc function. I been looking at G35s for a while and I think with all the mods to this car, that is a pretty good deal.

Bringing your honey home............

Before bringing your G home do the normal stuff like
taking it for a drive, check the condition of the oil
and other fluids. But the most important thing to do
nowdays is to run the serial numbers to see if it's been
crashed or drowned.....check the undercarriage and
look for overspray or crud in general........LOL

YES, YES visually check the undercarriage! in most cases you can tell if the car have had a major damage or not!

PLUS pop up the hood AND the trunk check for hidden damage -> take a peek under the mats and other isolation materials in the trunk area for repair traces....

ALSO check both bumpers... just try how well they stay on the car...

ALSO when turning on the ignition check if the AIRBAG light comes on !! (of course, check the instrument panel in general while driving...) ...

... that is it for now...

looks like the owner traded in the car with the dealer, usually trade in value is low with dealer and it also has an after market F/I on the car, for that mod. The dealer will not take it for a high value. I think the dealer just wants to sell the used car quickly. Any trade in or used car out of the dealer's lot is profit for sure. 7 out of 10 used cars make at least a couple Ks. If the dealer has a lot of confidence then ask him for a 30 day money back or you can tell them to keep it at the lot. If it has a serious mechanical problem, then you will know for sure within 30 days.

First of this thing looks to good to be true. One thing you should check is that when you start the car make sure no black or white smoke comes out of the exhaust. Test drive the damn thing because 4 psi is not the norm for an SC setup usually around 6-8 psi. Make sure the power is there when you step on the gas. Check the oil and make sure it's not black. No oil leaks coming from the valve covers and under the car. The car being an 03 make sure the tranny is ok. Do you know how to check for body damage? Looks can be deceiving make sure you get the body checked before driving it home. I know most dealer once you drive the car off the lot that's it your stock with that car no matter what. Goodluck hope you don't get ripped off.

if i remember correctly the previous owner of that G was a FGC member. his s/n was draco24433.

he was a really cool guy and looked like he took care of the car.

the sc is a ATI Procharger and i think he had a HKS blow off valve.

if not than thats its evil twin.

my friend was telling me about a guy who traded his 04 STI with over 5g worth of mods into the dealership for 17g so this could be really good deal if the person was desperate to sell his car.

the price strikes me as a bit odd...but I would just suggest a really thorough ppi by a shop that knows FI. Also, it sounds like you do not know much about FI, so I would start learning asap! Personally, I wouldn't have considered a purchase like this unless I first knew what each and every part was, and what their functions were. I mean, did you ask to make sure the flow-to-induction-resonance level was resonable??? (that last part was a joke...)

Best of luck with the purchase!

id take it to a shop that handles FI on 350Zs and G35s a lot.
price looks way too good and in the listing they cant spell infiniti, and they dont seem to know much about the car (brand s/c for example)
