New coupe owner - Indicator question
New coupe owner - Indicator question
I'm happy to finally become a member of the community. I have been following the g35s for some time now and this weekend I walked into an Infiniti dealer and got hooked up on the 1 year lease special. I picked up my new 6mt (Diamond Graphite / premium / sports / areo / navi) and have been
ever since. This is my first stick car so I have some time before I truly get used to the clutch but I'm managing well.
One question I do have that hopefully someone can shed some light on is about my up-shift indicator. It continually says “rev” and never tells me to shift the gears. I tried looking in the manual for more info but can’t find anything on it other then a picture labeling it. Any ideas?
Once again, glad to finally be more then a spectator in this forum!

you can set the rev light to whatever you want. push the trip meter button a couple times.... there are two trip meters and then the setting for the rev light. to change the setting hold down the trip meter button while the rev light setting is displayed, it will start flashing, then push it again to increase the setting in 100 rpm increments, hold it down to increase in 500 rpm increments
oh yeah and enjoy your new coupe

The light that says "REV" will always be on. However the light to tell you to shift is a red light, I believe above the REV, that will flash when you get close to the set RPMs. Personally, I think it is useless and don't see the point - your mileage may vary.
Congrats on the new car!

When I got my G I asked the same question about the REV indicator.
At first found it to be distracting, but now don't even notice it.
Some of my passengers ask, what's that! Then I mess with their heads and say, oh it means Real Excessive Velocity so hold on
But seriously, I used it during my break-in period. Set it to 4000 so I wouldn't go over that rpm during the first 1200 miles of break-in.
Now I have it set to the max tq for my rare power shifting moments.
