brake service or broken service?

Its been a while since I last posted as other hobbies and business have taken up time and effort. I have a 03 coupe AT purchased new in 2002 and have benefited from and enjoyed this forum and everyone's enthusiasm for their G's. As you know, the G35 has incredible brakes. Incredibly short stopping distances, and incredibly short (reportedly) life. I had my front brake pads replaced under warranty at around 12,000 miles as Infiniti had fessed up to owner complaints regarding short pad life. My driving is mostly freeway commute, very early morning with virtually no stop and go. I am "an old guy" at 50, and have the AT, meaning not a very aggressive driver with this car. I am in the process of putting my 2003 G35 coupe AT fully loaded on the market and I brought my car into the dealer for its routine service and check up at 30,000 miles (oil changes very 2500 to 3000 miles, etc). Throughout the life of the car, I always complained that the brakes squealed, but was repeatedly told by the dealer (Miller Infiniti in Van Nuys, CA) that this was the norm for this car and the price of having incredible braking power (which I fortunately, have not really had to utilize). At this last service, I was informed that not only did all my pads have to be replaced (front and rear), but that my front rotors had to be replaced (not resurfaced) as they did not meet spec for thickness. When I asked why they didn't replace the rear pads at 12,000 miles, I was told that at that time, over 50% of the rear pads remained so it was not covered under warranty replacement like the front pads, but that at 30,000 miles, the rear pads are down to the sensors (even though the brake sensor warning on the nav system did not post a warning). I was further told that it was NORMAL for the front rotors to have to be REPLACED on this car every other brake pad replacement! Is this normal? I've owned mainly Porsches in the past (got the G35 with small rear seat as a concession to fatherhood) and don't remember anything like this being the case for other high performance cars with good brakes (of course I am getting older, ha...ha...). Bottom line, what has been the experience of others on this board. Was this reasonable brake service, or just broken service? BTW, TIAfor your feedback as this is just for my own psychological edification as I am selling the G and getting a CLK550 cabriolet (got tired of the less than stellar 2003 interior and even though I'm an old guy, do miss the hp and low end grunt that V8 level torque provides).

To be honest I haven't had great experiences with Miller. I bought my car in Glendale and originally always took it there for services and was happier, only it's a bit of a drive from me in Chatsworth. Gene at Miller was a bit better than par, but the guys that we're left with now he's gone aren't very helpful. A friend and I both took our cars in for the ol' seatbelt retracting problem and they refused to help, which I thought was against the law if it were under warranty. I myself don't have brembos on my 04 since it was not an option on the AT's, but just sharing with you my knowledge of Miller.

I had very similar experience with my 03 coupe, during that ownership? they changed front rotors/pads twice(13k and 27K?) and rear pads twice (19k and 32k?) all were under warranty. Got rid of it and got an 05 G coupe, so far I have no issue with brakes on the 05's, eventho it only have 9.8k miles, and have lil or no brake dust at all, unlike the 03's, where you have to wash the wheels every couple of days.

If you do decided to keep the G? since brake warranty is over, it would be better to go with aftermarket rotors/pads.

By the way, its nice to see some old timer (join date ) still around to post.
