question about oem wheels

Question for anyone with the OEM (Rays I think) 19" wheels.
Is the inside of your wheel still silver? Mine have turned very dark from brake dust and it wont come off. It started happening a few days after I got the car. The reason im asking is because im fighting with the dealer/infinity to get it fixed. Thanks.

They're going to get dirty no matter what. Try using a dishwashing detergent or degreaser like Dawn or Palmolive. It's prolly not worth fighting with the dealer.

I would not bother fighting with the dealer about it. You will just be pissed in a month when they are dirty again. It can however be cleaned by taking the whole wheel off the car, then using some elbow grease and some dish cleaner. You may need a sponge which is slightly rough. Make sure you do a small section at first and let it dry and make sure there is no discoloration done to the wheels. The 19s are very picky about what types of soap and chemicals get on them.

i use the leftover car wash soap and do up the wheels. i think it makes the rims look much cleaner and contrast agains the tires. just scrub with soap and the rough side of a sponge and rinse. repeat if necessary. they're not grooved like some honda wheels so they're easier to clean.

Its not dirt and it wont come off. So im assuming that your wheels are not silver inside. I have pictures in the wheel/tire section.

it's going to happen bro unless you're cleaning it with every wash....

try taking off the wheels every now and again and get some gojo orange stuff hand cleaner and go to town with a brush. Stuff works great!!

I clean mine at every wash using leftover soap and an old mitt. Its the only way to keep them clean. You can't expect them to stay silver unless you wash them regularly. Most likely the brake dust has begun to etch into the surface and it why its not coming off. Try using some eagle 1 all wheel cleaner and/or a claybar and see if it will come off.

The problem isn't the wheels................

My G has 13K and I'm on the second set of pads. I've discussed this before, the pads Infiniti uses are
pure trash. I clean my Volks, drive to the store and
back and there covered with black dust. The only
answer is to get aftermarket pads.
