One click when putting car in R

I have an automatic 03...when I put it in reverse from a stop it makes one click that sounds like it's coming from the passenger side, back of the car. But it doesn't do it going from R to D or D to P or anything. The shifts seem smooth and there's no noise from the transmission whatsoever when driving. Is this anything to worry about?

My car recently started doing the same thing...I was going to mention it at the next service visit. It does sound like the tranny mount is popping or something.

Print this out and take this to the dealer. They will know how to fix this. I had the same problem.

Does it cost anything to have the service done if there is a TSB for it? My 3/36k warranty is done so I only have the 5/60k on the power train left.

your warranty will cover it under the power terrain.

This noise happens when you accelerate real quick right? Almost like two pieces of metal clicking together? Mine just started doing this last night... sound slike it's only from the passenger side - damn!

Yep...now it does it when I accelerate sometimes too. I'm gonna try to get it taken care of next week.

I'm now getting this on my car too. At first, I thought I had a nail or something stuck in my right rear passenger tire. The clicking sounds like you have a nail or something metal stuck in your tire right?

Mine does it before even moving. For example...from park I put my foot on the brake and as soon as I shift into reverse it gives one (always just one) loud click from the passenger side, rear of the car. This is before I even let off the brake and start moving. Now recently it's started doing it when accelerating from a stop as well...like at a red light. Anyway it seems to be a common problem and hopefully will be an easy fix...I'll post the results after I get it looked at by my dealership.

^+1 This is exactly what I noticed last night - I had my windows down and the radio off and noticed the sound. Now that I've heard it, it's all I hear... guess I'll get it checked out this weekend.

Does this have any negative affect on the car if it's not taken care of right away? Or is just more of an annoyance?

everyone who is having this issue... its been discussed manyatimes ... its the rear axel clicking... a common and known problem to infiniti and the dealers.

take it to the dealer they will fix it under warranty... takes anywhere from 2 hrs to 4 hours depending if both axels need to be fixed.

i recently got mine done and the problem has been fixed... its been 3 weeks since i got mine fixed.
