Cup holder door not flush

While I was waiting to sign papers on the car last week, my salesman came up to me and told me that the cup holder wasn't working right, so bring it back in a week and they will fix it. (someone tried to pull it... whatever it wouldnt pop up like it was supposed to). Its brand new with 9 miles, so of course I want this to work.

Anyway, After about a 3 hour wait I get the car back and the door works, its just not flush at all. Now, my salesman goes and gets the tech who tells me he just replaced the entire cup holder and had to take the console appart etc... and its not going to sit flush, its just a quirk of the car.

Instead of taking a loner car and waiting another 3 days to have another put in I went ahead and just took it home. Just curious if anyone else has this problem? It's nothing major, but my salesman said if at anytime it bothers me I can bring it back. Just dont see any reason for them to take the console apart just to put another one in and it not sit flush either...

-thanks

P.S. new owner jitters i guess

Are you talking about the cup holder that pops out? It sounds bunk to me.

fyi-When you first start driving the car it will smell like stuffs burning under the hood, its normal. Actually I miss it

yah the little door you push and it pops open on its own over the cup holders. It sits down just a little from being flush with the rest of the console.

edit: it was like this when i first got the car and they said it was going to be fixed, but at that time it was stuck all the way down..

Well, if its that little plastic insert who cares? Are you going to uninstall the armrest and replace it with the piece it comes with? Nobody will see it. I don't even understand how its not flush.

If you don't miss the burning smell, then you don't miss when your car was brand new. What's not to miss?

nm... its not a big deal just curious is anyone else has this problem.
I'm really talking about the cupholder cover, door, hatch, whatever you want to call it. not in the armrest.
