new rear tire

so at 15500 miles, my 06 MT g decides to tear a rip on the sidewalls of my rear right tire. went to firestone and they charged me a total of $343 for that one tire... does this sound about right(includes install)?? or did i get ripped off.. also, what could cause such a tear in the tire at just 15500 miles...???thanks for all your inputs.

paid $278 each for 275/35/19's mounted and balanced for my new wheels at firestone. stock potenza re 050a's. next time, just ask them to meet tire rack prices.

wow, that sounds excessive for one tire and the install.

yikes, that is expensive...but what can you do you're in a jam and need a new tire ASAP. you really can't be shopping around in that situation.

did it rip on the inside edge of the tire? was it worn to the belts. it's hard to see the inside edge of the tire but our car wears abnormally fast on the insides. Gotta check them once in a while to be sure there's still meat left.

Yeah thats crazy. My boy has 19's and has gone through 4 tires one by one this entire Summer. He'd change one and a week or two later he'd blow another one. He paid 189.00 a tire at Town Fair Tire (I don't know where your located but here on the East Coast theres quite a few of them)

When you need a tire now...............!

Anytime you have an emergency where you need a
tire now, your going to take it in the shorts. I've
been using the TireRack for my tires for over ten
years. It's difficult to beat their prices. But, I would
never go to Goodyear or Firestone stores to buy
anything. You may a well go the the Stealership for
tires. Shop around for the tires you want, like Costco
or WallMart.

I replaced the G35 tires with the .. whatever it is the car comes with brand new.. paid 1,050 all the way around, lifetime balance, blah blah blah... 383.. they raped you.. but like it was said.. what can you do.. Hey, **** happens... you couldnt avoid it this time, your at there mercy in a situation like that.. just never go back again unless your forced to in another emergency....
