INJEN CAI, worth it?

i just got my g35c 5AT, was wondering if i should get the INJEN CAI for my car, read that it will give you an extra 8-15HP more, is this true and will it give me better gas/mileage as well? if its good overall for my car, i'll get it, what do you guys think? feel any difference when you have this installed? like sounds and performance wise?

Re: INJEN CAI, worth it?

from what i've heard, excluding the hyper grounding, all mods that increase HP decrease MPG

Thats not true. Something that makes the car less restrictive generally incrase gas milage...like a cat-back exhuast.

That's true, but the more mods you do the more you want to drive it and push it. Netting less mpg's.
I agree tho, a lot of mods make the engine more efficient yielding more mpg's.

Re: INJEN CAI, worth it?

it's up to u. If u don't drive the to the near 5000rpm often. U probably don't really notice the dirrerence. not to mention the hassel of cleaning the Filter!!! It has to be located underneath so if u don't want to bother with all that... just get k&n drop in air filter. or stillen is another alternative.

Yeah, get it. I haven't gotten one yet, but plan to get it in the spring. I've heard it that you can tell a difference and that the sound is really nice.

Aren't you guys concerned with the rain in your area, and how it could affect the cai?

How often does it rain in Los Angeles? That answers your question.

Re: INJEN CAI, worth it?

If K&N ever finishes testing their CAI they have an optional valve that is installed in the the middle of the intake pipe. It has a mechanical pressure seal of some type. This valve will open temporarily if the pressure within the intake suddenly increases dramatically, i.e. water getting sucked in. When the valve opens (yes I believe it has a small filter), it will pull dry air from the upper area inside the engine compartment. I do not know whether INJEN has a similair product. Peace.

Re: INJEN CAI, worth it?

Save your 50 or 60 bucks on a K & N drop in. I got Injen CAI about 3 days ago. Cleaning is not that hard the rewards are worth it, and if you run up against anyone with a K&N they will be able to tel the difference .Took about an hour to install, and let me just say you can tell the difference statring at about 4 grand and the sound OH MY GOD beautiful!!!!!!!!!

Re: INJEN CAI, worth it?

Just wanna make clear I am not talking about the K&N drop in. In my opinion it is a complete waste of money. I think any decent mandrel bent intake should help but I just prefer K&N is all.

Re: INJEN CAI, worth it?

AEM has one with a gate that prevents water from getting in, but I don't know if it is available yet
