I know there have been a million threads and post on this, but wow is all i can say.

I woke up today and didnt have work or school and it was overcast so i figured it would be a good day to wash the car. I rolled it out of the garage and started to wash it...actually washed it 2 times to make sure everything was off cause i was going to wax it. The sun came out for about 5 minutes after i dried it and the swirl marks that were in the paint were unbelievable. I pulled it in the garage after it dried off and i figured i would start on the long waxing project. As i got in my contained of waxes, soaps, and shines. I noticed that a while back i baught a tube of Nu Finish scratch remover.

I thought to myself i will work on the hood a little bit with this to remove some scratches (it also takes off oxidation marks and swirl marks). I put it on the hood worked it in by hand and let it seal for about 10 minutes before romvoving it and WOW. I swear to god that it was new i couldnt believe (i actually still dont..i keep walking out to look at it again to see if the scratches are comming back). Anyways i did the whole hood and it was shinning better than the day it came from the dealership. I figured i would use it on the headlights as well..all the fog and everything is gone from the headlights its freaking amazing. I remember a while back i spilt a drop of tire shine on the paint and it cause this liquid looking spot underneither the clear coat and nothing would take it off (i used gas, wax, claybar, everything i could think of). So i figured i would use some of this stuff on it not expecting it to work since i already tried everything..put it on rubbed it in really well and waited like 15 minutes to make sure it was dry...took it off and the sh*t was gone!!!! I still dont believe this stuff is working, but it is.

Anybody who is taking swirl marks or discolorations out of the paint i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this Nu Finish scratch remover. I wish i had a high pixel camera to take pictures of it before and after, but i dont.

Anyways once again i highly recommend this brand. I still have to post pics but, I give it a A+ -- take in mind that i have used just about everything out there and this is the best so far.

Interesting... try washing the car again and see if the swirls return.

I'm guessing the Nu Finish is just filling in the swirls so they are not as visible. If that's the case, there might be products that last longer out there.

Speaking as a guy who just spent all of last weekend removing swirls using a random orbiter and Menzerna's IP and FP-II with orange and white pads... no way Nu Finish is taking out your swirls that easily unless they were extremely minimal.

Likely it is filling them.. nothing wrong with that but realize you'll have to keep doing that again each time it wears/washes off.

 

If I remember, NuFinish was an infomercial product... it only fills the light swirls and after a few washes... those swirls will magically reappear. it's garbage.

But the flip side is that he actually got to do something with his weekend other than run a random orbiter, and he still got a finish he's proud of. I think people underestimate the quality/time ratio when they trash "infomercial" or off-the-shelf products.

we spoke b4 on my thread, i just orded this stuff

i used a abrasive compound to take a scratch of my rear black bumper, now there is a hase from the compound, this hase looks like abunch of mini scratches that are grey not black. it is only noticble when u shine light on the damage.

i used wax sealer anpolish with no luck.

will this stuff help remove the haze?

 

nu finish makes excellent products... i used there cleaner wax a while back on one of my maximas and it really worked sick.

 

i am a bit skeptical...why arent pro detailers using nufinish then?

 

Is this Nu Finish stuff a polish?

If so, maybe you could slap a few coats of a layerable non-cleaner wax on top of it to help preserve the freshly balanced(by Nu Finish) paint surface beneath.

 

BUT GUYS.. Nu finish washes off.. thats the point.. it looks good today but in a week it will look like **** again..... buy a 7424 and some zaino products for taking out swirls.. I did my car with several layers of wax and its swirl free all in four hours.. guess what.. next week or the week after when I wash my car and he washes his.. he will be putting on Nu Finish again while I am off doing something or throwing on a layer of Z2 to better shine and protect my car while he is trying to hide swirls...

With ANY product that removes scratches/swirls, I always follow them up with a wipedown of a 50/50 water/alcohol mix to make sure that I have removed all of the fillers. Even most of the great polishes contain some degree of silicon and thus it is always good to do a wipedown to check.

On the flip side, if you are happy with the results - stick with it! NXT is also a filler-type product that may not last long, but does look good when it is fresh. However, I am from the group that cherishes a weekend spent with the rotary polishing away on the car.

 

They will be back. It's just a filler. You need to buff the car to remove scatches. Nothing by hand will remove them.

 

lets see some links to the "orbiter" everyone is talking about on this thread. something an amateur at buffing like me can use...easily without ruining the car.
