HELP: DIY for Coupe TRUNK SWAP
I know people have done DIYs for trunk swaps. If anyone has read this and could help me out because we're trying to do a trunk swap as of right now, but from the looks of it... we're bumfuzzled. Chime in if you could create a quick write up.. no need for pics unless you have them uploaded onto your comp already. Thanks a lot guys.
Are you switching trunks due to one car wanting a spoiler and the other wants spoilerless?
If so.. All you need to do is take the interior trim lining off the bottom of the trunk and pop the shocks off on eat corner, they are a B#TCH to take off. But they do just pop off..
You will also need to take the 4 bolts off the bracket/hinges. These bolts are painted over, so you will be a nice big ratchet with some muscle. Make sure to mask around the area so you don't scratch anything up (it will rust).
After that, there should a wiring harness under the lining you took out.. pop that out and you should be able to pull the trunk..
The only thing is.. the hardest part is taking out the rear shelf since you need the 3rd brake light to be legal.. This requires taking out the rear seats and all the interior pieces in the back...
Hope this helps..
