gettin nervous about the snow

I have 06 with sport package, and I was telling everyone who was telling me theres now way I will drive this car in the winter that i will drive it. I had a 240sx back like 4 years ago and i drove this thing through a freakin blizzard. My friend was tellin me though because these are summer tires that I seriosly will not move and i shouldnt even bother. Anyone with sport package have an experience in the snow yet?

I keep hearing our coupes arent as bad as expected in the snow with snow tires. I for whatever reason find it hard to believe but I heard it from more then 1 person now. I guess snow tires may be a good investment depending on the replies that start popping up in this post. I didnt move my car in the snow last year so I cant speak from exp...yet :X

I would like to hear what snow tire package people are using with good results because I guess its that time of the year again!

if you have the sport package wheels just get a set of blizzak snow and ice tires . They make them for 18" wheels and they provide good traction in the snow. I am speaking from experience.

I'm selling my winter set up. It's 17" OEM rims with Blizzaks. PM me with your email address if you want pics.

Oh, and by the way the G is a death trap with summer tires on snow, but great with the Blizzaks.

I had a 240sx hatch in the 90s... man I loved that car.. but driving in the snow.. this was my only car and man..... a friend of mine put it best.. its a freaking sled! Nonetheless.. the G will be stationary this winter... its a second car and I wouldnt want it in the snow even if the tires were good... salt on the roads, sand.. your just looking to get the paint messed up...maybe you can pick up a beater for the snow?

Look at the tread on your tires and please tell me your kidding. I mean seriously if you run these tires in a blizzard you deserved to be stuck in a ditch. I myself will be driving my wife's '04 sedan in the inclimate weather this winter. And if the weather is real bad I have a friend with a Chevy Avalanche to take me to work if necessary.

I have the Canadian equivalent of the sport model and put 17" AHA JH3's with Hankook Ice Bears. I'm in southern Ontario and we have some pretty heavy winters (sometimes 3 or 4 feet of snow) but have no problems driving. The G will not perform as well of course and you must drive at appropriate speeds but I never got stuck or skidded off the road. I am not trying to sell the Hankook tires either - there are probably some better ones out there but I do think you should seriously consider winter tires. Summer performance tires are made of compounds not meant for winter driving and it is extremely dangerous to do so. Hope this helps.

Our cars are terrible in the snow if you don't have a winter tire setup. I don't have winter tires, but I also dont drive it in the snow! Winter tires are highly recommended unless u have another car to use.
