Car locking

Two different times this weekend, I got out of my G, and purposefully left the doors unlocked, only to return later to a locked car. I tried everything I could think of, and once when I rolled the windows up from outside the car, the light in the dash burned (solid) red for about 10 seconds, and the doors were locked. Does anyone know if these doors lock theirselves, and if so, what criteria is it based on?

Re: Car locking

I never lock my car when I park in my garage and the next morning it's always unlocked. I don't even think that's one of the programmable features.

Re: Car locking

Did you unlock it with the remote or maybe bump the remote? The only case of self-locking that's programmed in, I believe, is when you unlock it with the remote, then don't open any doors for 30 seconds -- it relocks, thinking you accidentally pressed the button.

Re: Car locking

its passive dude, it locks automatically if you have the windows, trunk, or hood open. The solid light is the 30 second delay for the alarm to set.

Re: Car locking

Not sure from your post how you unlocked your doors.

But if you use the Remote to Lock or Unlock and do not open and close a door afterwards. The lock function of the alarm will Lock the doors.

Re: Car locking

won;t lock with the windows open and such

only way to lock is to use the remote to unlock the doors without opening a door. This will happen if you are already out of the car and operate the remote.

Tried many ways and this is the only way it locks. It is a safety feature incase you accidentally activate the unlock without knowing it . Keeps the doors from being open all night
