i used some strong fishing string to take my emblems off my other car. it didnt scratch the paint but getting the adhesive off the paint after that was kinda hard.

I used dental floss or fishing line as mentioned before sounds better.
Left G in the sun first to warm up/soften adheasvise.
Then used the stuff I mentioned.
What was that other stuff said here?...Goo...Gooy Goneth...lol.
You don't need to buy new emblems, just clean off old stuff and use 3M double sided foam tape to put them back on later.

Dental Floss and Goo Gone. I don't really recommend WD40... Also, your arms will go through hell getting the leftovers removed if you want perfection. -=']

^^^When I used dental floss, I doubled it up.
It broke a few times but no big deal, just used new when it broke.
It defininately doesn't scratch the paint when sawing through the emblem adheasive.
Try fishing line, it's stronger if that's a concern.

i finished debadging my emblems and the hardest part was getting off the adhesive. I used the goo gone. It works real good when you let it settle on the adhesive for a while to soften it up before trying to take it off. I figured this out after i got tired of trying to scrape it all off right away. =)

i barely had any adhesive left on the g after removing my emblems. to get the rest of the 'goo' off i sprayed a soft towel with wd40 and had another damp (with water) clean towel ready. so i wiped the 'goo' off with one towel (with wd40) and immediately wiped it again with the water damped towel. then i waxed the entire trunk and it looks perfect. so wd40 works fine..as long as you dont keep it on the paint too long..

Is there anyway to get rid of the left over glue and make it look more clean, and possibly any way to buff out the scratches i made trying to scrape off the glue with my nails?
Aren't you supposed to use fishing line to take off the original badges?

after i debadged my emblems theres was some scratches that outline where the adhesive was. i guess from rubbing it off too hard. is there anything i could use to get the scratches out or make them less noticeable?

The scratches aren't that bad. You can only see it if you look at it at an angle or really close. But under light you can kinda see how the area that was under the adhesive is shiny and everything else around it gets kinda dull.
