Please make room for a newbie…

Wassup guys! South Cali girl here. I had my coupe for 4 months now. Even though I love my new ride, I haven’t thought much about it…That is, until I found this forum. You all made me realize how much I’ve been neglecting my baby. So like a fool, I ordered my clear corners and aluminum pedals. I’ll be layering the Zaino this weekend. Have any girls attempted this themselves? I hope it’s not that hard. Hmm…maybe I should recruit some guys for help. Any volunteers? =P

Welcome g_string. I'm somewhat a newbie here myself as I've only had my G 10 days. Had my windows tinted on Friday and my clear corners came in today. Still waiting on the CG I ordered last week. I'm sure you'll be like me a learn alot from everyone on here. The're knowledgeable, friendly (especially to you ladies) and can be alot of fun. Enjoy!

Welcome aboard G_String. Yeh lot's of love on this site. Congrats on your fine G.
The clears C's are a breeze. Zaino is hard but no harder than waxing just time consuming. Worth it tho, I like Zaino.
C/G isn't tough either, just go into our Detail Forum for all kinds of tips and help.
Both applications yield great results.
Post pics soon of your new pride and joy, and, of course, of yourself, but be careful with the 'beefcake', you might cause a wild stampede that nobody could stop.
Once again welcome to our site. We look forward to your pics and your posts. Any Q's just holler, anytime.

Welcome "G",
Hope your lovin' your car as much as me.
Just came home from a 500 mile trip, bought a state map and took alternative routes. This car should not even come with cruise control!

Re: Please make room for a newbie…

I've had mine 3 months now and plan to Zaino for the first time this weekend too. Ordered the aluminum pedals and got tint last week. I've heard the pedals aren't that difficult to install. I'll know soon enough. Don't know about the clear corners. If anything the Zaino should be easier to apply than a wax, just time consuming depending on how many coats you apply. Good luck.

Re: Please make room for a newbie…

Girls, FL & String the clears are no problem. They are a snap literally kinda like..... ummm.... A G-string! Ok bad joke number 1. Heh. The clears pop out and in by pulling on the edge nearest the wheel/fender edge. Just give it a little tug... gggrrrr... *pop* and there ya go. The pedals I haven't tried yet but I have heard they are a little hard to get on then off because of the clips. But as many mention above I'm sure there are many a gent that would be more than easily persuaded to get on a knee for a G lady and her pedals. Maybe at the next meet in So. Cal. Wait are you guys from So. cal? duh. Good luck and let the G times roll.

Re: Please make room for a newbie…

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO omg I've never shouted so many expletives as when I was installing those damned pedals! Boy what a tight OEM fit. i told myslef i'd never do it again.. maybe if I heated the rubber up with a heat gun for a while it would have been easier...

Good luck.. and welcome to the board.. i'm a socali guy myself.. OC to be exact... you should sign up for our SOCAL meet we're having this weekend... er, the deadline i think was on the 17th so you might not have a spot but if you want to come let me know.. theres gonna be about 100 of us there in gardena, CA..

Re: Please make room for a newbie…

LOL...lay off my G-String and keep your hands to yourself!
My G is black on black with the premium package...5AT coupe. I would have preferred MT but I drive in Los Angeles traffic to and from work everyday. For those of you who lives out here, you know how bad the I-10 and the I-101 is. For those of you who don't, I'm sure you have heard we have the worst rush hour traffic.
