To let you know what happened today, maybe I should let you know what's been going on recently.
A few weeks ago my "service engine soon" light came on. I took it to the dealership, and they told me I had to replace a oxygen or throttle sensor or something. He said it didn't effect anything, and it was covered by warranty but the part was on back order so he would call me a few weeks later when it arrived. However, the "service engine soon" light might stay on.
Ok, so I've been driving normally and it's been driving fine. The lights been staying on the whole time, but a few days ago the light turned off. Today, I got off work around 10:30 pm and I go to my car. I start it and it's at really low rpms (i think 500-600 which is really low) when I turn on the car, and the SLIP light, the VDC light, and the "service engine soon" light are all lit up.
So I wait 10 seconds, turn back the car on, and only the "service engine soon" light is on. I drive off, and its fine. The service engine soon light is most likely b/c of the sensor, so I have NO idea what happened.
Can anybody please explain what could be wrong?
Btw, last month I turned on the car and it like died on me twice on start up. The third time it finally worked. I thought it was the battery, but the third time it worked. My mom was in the car with me, so it was pretty embarassing. Fortunately, this happened in my garage so if it was the battery, it would be easy to fix. It also kinda felt like I didn't turn the key all the way? ( I hope that final info helps)
Thanks guys.

You are describing a classic throttle actuator issue. They have been on backorder for a while. Bring your car to the dealer & tell them that it cannot be driven & that you need a loan car. At that time they should change your order to VOR & then Custmer Care & that will help get it faster.

I had a similar issue after having a cam sensor failure--the throttle position sensor failed--and even though the actual sensor was on backorder--the dealer just installed a whole new throttle body ($900 part that has the sensor as well). Props to my dealer for that cuz my baby is running great!
I just called today, and the part is STILL on back order. I am still not sure what happened last night, but I hope it was nothing serious...
