What size are those lenses and where did you get them? Color is great for oem bulbs.
The lenses are 3", they come from those crappy APC projector lights from ebay. The projectors are horrible, but the lens is great.

If I'm guessing correctly as to the reason for you question, it won't fit the TL. At least not without major work.

This is my set on my car, it took me a few days to perfect the fitment of the purple lens onto a TL projector.

That is exactly why I'm asking.

What kind of modifications did you have to do to them to make them fit? Were they too thick or thin?

The lenses are too big for the TL lens holder. And the focal distance is off. I was able to get it to fit by using the lens holders from a RS6 bixenon projector. It was quite a bit of work, but it turned out ok.

Sorry about the large size, but here are the results:

Does sound like a lot of work.

Were all those pics different options you tried on the same projectors? The last one is by far the best and what I'm looking for. Right now mine are a little better than the first ones.

Do you know if a set of E46 projector lenses will work that well? I think they are the ZKW lenses?

Thanks

The pics were all from the same projector, just swapping the lens and doing little mods to it. As far as the ZKW lenses, it depends on the year for the E46. I think ZKW came on 330xi. But ZKW projectors are now $240 to $300 these days. That's more than what I'm trying to sell a set of TLs for.

There are some pics somewhere on the forum. Here are some recent ones.

CCFL side strip. The cheapo $2 stock inverters burnt out, so I had to replace them with some waterproof ones.

Just the low beams. 50 Watt ballasts with 50 Watt Philips DL50 bulbs. Supposedly over 5000 lumens (I say supposedly...the website that I bought them from later on took my pics and used them to advertise on their site without my permission, so you never know).

The TLs on the bottom are warming up, hence the off color. All 4 bulbs are DL50 50W ones, at gasp....3900K. Top are 50W, bottom 35W. Forget the blue 8000K lights, I just want bright lights now.

Distance shot.

Do you think the 50W ballasts and DL50 bulbs are worth all the extra $ over 35W ballasts and bulbs?

In my case, yes. the TSX projectors aren't that bright. It's at the point now where I'm very happy with the brightness. I got the bulbs for $40 each on ebay, so they weren't too bad. The ballasts were $300. Please don't ask where I got them from, because I refuse to advertise for a company that used my pics without my permission on their website.

I can understand that, everyone who has used my pics has asked so far.

Thanks for all the info!
