Re: 0 to 60

The magazines say 6 for the AT, but I think they must be doing that in "Drive" rather than manual mode. Think about it, if the MTs are getting there in 5.5 seconds and beating the ATs by 0.5 seconds, then they should increase that time difference over the quarter mile because they have better gearing and slightly less drivetrain loss. It does not make sense that an AT would pull on a well-driven MT after that point. But since some AT drivers are getting 14.3 or less in the quarter mile in manual mode, that would mean the MT drivers should be getting around 13.7 or less, which is not what I'm hearing. The best I've seen for a stock Z was a 13.87, and a G is carrying 300 extra pounds more than a Z. So I think the 0-60 times must be closer than published.

Re: 0 to 60

Doesn't this bring up the argument of an AT being faster than a MT with less experienced drivers also? No stock MT will run 13.7 for sure... AT's running 14.3 is pretty good isn't it? Cuz I thot the stock 1/4mile time for MT was around 14.1 am I correct?

Re: 0 to 60

you are correct very well talented driver will get 14.1 though not every single time... mostly they will hit 14.3-4 range(well talented driver and worse time for good or below drivers)... and auto will hit that time for sure too... i'm not putting down MT g i have no doubt that MT g will be abour .3sec faster if MT driver shift like the one in gran turismo3... but really, how many MT drivers out there can shift like GT3?

Re: 0 to 60

how is it possible to make a G go 0-60 in about 4.2 secs? What supercharger can make it do this? Any turbos coming out that will do that? This is my goal 0-60 for the G if it is ever possible. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: 0 to 60

Hmm if its stick you will need to put down at least 400hp to the wheels to do this and really good tires. But yea I think everything is possible .... its all a matter of $$$

Gtimers

I thougt that G-timers were basically accelerometers. If that is the case, dont they need to be mounted to a stable, non moveable object (ie windshield)? That lil covers moves all over the place and I bet tricks the hell out of the unit. Just my thoughts from how those things work.

I'd remount on the windsheild and see what kinda #'s you really get.

Re: Gtimers

I got the same #'s in both locations( cubby lid & windshield) My cubby lid is stable in the fully opened position.
Besides, the G-Timer wouldn't stay calibrated if it vibrated or moved around...
