soooo unlucky :(
i got a ticket in NYC yesterday for speeding, i had my radar on, but i was lasered, so there's nth i could do cept getting pulled over...
the ticket wasn't too expensive, $140, 74 on a 50 mile zone..
but i was thinkign whether it's worth it to appeal for it.
3 options:
1. pay for it, and being pissed off
2. appeal, but might not win, and charges might go up
3. not paying for it, and hopefully i won't get pulled over again, and sooner or later the ticket will be forgotten..
what do u guys think
p.s. the road was pretty busy, it was around 7pm, and there was this audi on the next lane that was going a little faster.

no offense but option 3 is a fools run.
pay the crappy ticket or itll come back and bite you hard in the butt
or you can just reschdule the court date and hope the cop dont show up to the second court date and theen you will have a better chance in pleaing for a lesser charge or points.
147 is not much if you own a g35 but its paying off the Points that really hurts.
My suggestions is reschdule the court date like atleast 2+ times and hope cop dont show up. plea for lesser charges or points and pay it away.

I got a ticket in Queens back in March or April. I got a lawyer and the ticket is still in limbo. I have my third hearing in November. The lawyers plan is to keep pushing it off until the cop doesn't bother showing up or the judge says f this and cancels it.
From what I understand its very very difficult to plead not guilty on speeders in NYC. For that matter getting it down to something else.

I agree with everyone else.. if you dont show.. you are a fool. Do that enough times and you can see a cell. I know of someone serving time for unlicensed operation of a vehicle. Knock on wood last time I was pulled over (been through check points, but not pulled over) was in 1998. Back then I got my share of tickets for awhile and almost always went to court.. just go to court and play the game and hope the cop dosent show. And yeah, I see the guy from Kansas talking and have been told in MI if your caught speeding that much over (I know it dosent sound much to us) you can be really really screwed. Whatever you do, dont just not show up and hope it goes away.. it wont.
