Not at all, there is a diagram (schematic, enclosed) right on the relay. A "hot" wire from the battery (heavy gauge #10) to terminal 30/51 then go from terminal 87 to the "hot" of the horn compressor. Go from the "neg" of the compressor to "chassis ground" (metal body). Take the original horn wires and hook to terminals 86 and 85, if that doesn't work reverse the wires on 86 and 85 as you have it backwards. This will allow FULL power to the compressor and a louder horn. It will also keep your factory wiring from "letting the smoke out"
