Is It Possible...
Hey,
As you guys know, I just got my car back a few days ago. When I got it back, there were exactly 16 additional miles on the car from when I got it back. Don't you guys think that is just a little too many miles to test if the car is working or not? That is like 30 minutes of driving. Also, my fuel economy meter is now at 16mpg (used to be at like 18.2 or 18.3 right before I got into the accident). Do you guys think the dealership whipped my car really hard when they fixed it or something?? I mean, it takes a lot of hard driving to make the fuel economy average drop 2mpg in only 16 miles of driving. I hope they at least they warmed my baby up properly before driving it hard (especially since it's cold outside now)...what do you guys think??? Maybe they're supposed to drive the car hard??

All I will say is dont worry about the mechanics taking your car for fun drives. They most likely allready had thir sahare of fun with customer cars, its been out for a year now. Yea they probably pushed it to the limits to make sure everything is ok and throughly tested it to make sure.

It's possible but not very probable. Most of these guys are quite responsible, I've found anyway.
As to the Navi mileage: cold weather starting and warming of our g's drops the average mileage very quickly. If the shop had your g for a few days and had to move it periodically, that would account for the lower indicated mpg's, especially if it was parked outside, and especially if you reset your Navi mileage at every fillup like I do.
The 16 miles prolly was testing, moving, and a trip home for lunch for final test, and most of that done with a relatively cold engine.
Enjoy your ride, I'll bet you missed her. If there's any issues, let them know about it and question the mileage.

Yeah, good thinking gsedanman. Thanks for the info, guys. I don't mind it if they whipped my car real hard, I just don't appreciate it if they didn't warm my car up properly first, or if I get my car back and I find out there is a warrant for my arrest lol.

I am a Bus mechanic, and after my repairs specially on engine and transmission components , my road test would be as harsh as possible, not only to duplicate the operators way of driving , but to make sure the repairs are done right.
Believe me they did not abuse your car , they just made sure it will work for you.

Mr. Elussive,
I wouldn't worry. Your car was probably fixed at the bodyshop which is a few miles away. My car had extra 10 miles on it after I got it back from Park Ave Infiniti. Nothing major.
Enjoyint the ride is more important.

As many times as I read about cars coming back with dents, scratches, and other similar forms of abuse, I think you made out well.. Enjoy having it back..

You know, i was thinking the same thing when i took my car in for an alignment check, my car had 8 miles added on it after i got it back...and...the mechanic reset the ecu(I think...the cd changer went back at 1) oh well.
