were my tires about to explode

i had to drive from ny to seaside heights today, about 125 miles and i was doing a little less than 80, and half way through the trip i think my tires sensors went off cause their was a llittle light on the dash, first of all i dont even have stock rims so i didn't think the sensors would work properly with my 20's, but i was hungry anyway so i decided to pull off and grab some fast food. when i got out i checked all 4 tires and they all looked normal, so i went in got a couple burgers and left. when i got back on the parkway i realized the sensors weren't going off anymore. Why did this happen? the last time it went off was when it was 40 degrees out last feb and my front passenger tire needed air, but it was about 75 today and all the tires looked normal. Was it because i was driving too long and my tires were getting hot?

Also i forgot my easy pass so i had to use change and i think i got a coin stuck behind the little flip ash tray that comes out by the hazard light button, is their a way i can get behind it or take it out cause now it wont close?

Ummm because when tires are prone, they are cold....driving warmed them up a bit.

Don't be surprised if the sensors go off again.

Did you buy the car with rims? Or did you buy the rims? Find out if the place put the sensors in....

YES this EXACT thing happened to me also now the ashtray is jammed and wont close. Any ideas on how to get the coin out? I think I may end up going to the dealer and having them do it.

I wouldn't worry about the low tire pressure light, since you don't have sensors. My winter set of rims don't have sensors and on long highway trips it turned on too. I can't explain it, I had a fight with the dealer last winter, but I thought I had sensors. As long as you are on your 20s with no sensors I wouldn't worry about it.

dont know anyting about the whole tire pressure thing, but why dont you just take the dashboard apart and pull the center console out. It would be cheaper than taking it to the dealer.

you dont have to take the center console out (well atleast not on mine I have a 03)

Just have to remove the shift **** and then the trim piece around the shifter. The ashtray is part of this trim peice. There are two wires to disconnect, one for the ashtray light and one for the hazard button. I believe there are scews on the backside of ashtray you'll have to remove (not sure never had to remove change from that area before).

Once again this is coming from a 03 perspective I know the newer models have slightly different interiors.
