There's no way he's got VDC on if he's pulling low to mid 2.1 sixty foots.

Also, trey i think before you and i had talked about the track times a little bit. Is my 60 ft mark good? Im not sure what a good 60 ft mark is and what a bad one is and how they affect your 1/4 mile. If you could explain that to me that would be cool!

what kind of time difference would it with the vdc on? Also does that affect the hp/tq on a dyno with it on/off?

The first sixty foot is arguably the most important factor in your ET. 2.2's are common for the g's. 2.1's are better than average, and anything 2.0 or lower is really damned good. We're talking about street tires here. So your launches are definitely better than average.

Automatics have a tendency to outlaunch the manuals; the manuals have the advantage of being able to rev higher prior to launch, and be able to dial in the throttle. Unfortunately, and this includes myself, most 6mt g owners can't launch for crap.

Some people like to say that a tenth on the sixty will yield 2 tenths on the big end, but that's overstating it a bit.

I was gonna post my slip too just to ask see if I was doing ok, cuz was no G at that day to compare. Its my first time at the track ever, the 04 G is 81K mileage, 3500 miles unchanged oil, stock intake, rear tires are a little bold. After 5th run the tires just gave up and keep slipping at 1st and 2nd gears. Anyhow, my numbers are: R/T=.600, 1/4=15.004, MPH=96.11 .... How is it for the first timer?

NISMO G, You obviously have some skill and good reaction times.

Please post when you do a run or two in full auto. I'm extremely interested to see how it would compare. I think the auto mode is pretty damn efficient and that it would be close. You'd have to do a few runs in full auto to compare it fairly to your manual mode times.

Keep us updated.

I've only taken a 5AT down the track once, but I had it in manual mode, so I can't comment from direct experience. But... I've read numerous times that leaving it in automatic mode will result in premature upshifts from 1st to 2nd. That can be costly.

Yes, it definitely could be costly. But I know from my own street testing, that when I stomp it, it takes my RPM's all the way up to redline before shifting. At least from 1-2 and I think to 3 as well. I haven't ever had the opportunity to completely floor it and go past 90mph on the street/highway, so I can't comment on how the AT handles 4th and 5th gears.
