Spare Tire
Spare Tire
I went to a local tire dealer to have him remove one of my wheels that he marred during a rotate and balance so that he could send it off to be refinished and when mounting the spare, it would not fit over the front Brembo calipers. Has anyone else had this problem, or am I an isolated incident?

Hmmmmmm, is it possible Nissan screwed up with the size of the spare on Brembo equipped cars? . You other guys and gals with B's , have yu checked whether the spare fits on or not?
Best find out now b4 you're stuck somewhere.

Re: Spare Tire
Okay, I just checked it out. The spare tire is a donut, but the entire wheel is the same size as the stock 18" wheel, and it looks like the hub-cab clears the Brembo calipers without a problem. But now I just suddenly realized, that I only compared it to a rear wheel and not the front wheel (the front brakes are bigger)...doh !!!!

Re: Spare Tire
That's good bro, but let us know if it fits the front too. I think you're right, the front brakes are a little bigger than the rears.
When you try the front, there is a bolt in the front discs to prevent the use of the rear wheels. I'm wondering if that bolt had anything to do with jftcgmo's install. I can't imagine it being necessary to remove it to install a spare, but there may be a slot it needs to fit into. Just a hunch............

Re: Spare Tire
Yea, seeing this post made me look at my spare as well, I noticed after the dealer took my wheel and then 2 weeks later telling me that they cant fix it, so they mount the tire back and put the spare away. Well after I started washing my car, Inoticed afew scratches on my left front brembo. I was pissed as hell and went to the dealer and they told me that I had no proof that they did it, Now I have proof. I found a piece of a paint chip on the inside of the spare that was from the brembo, Same gold flake color. Now I am fuming. SO if your wondering if the spare fits the fronts, maybe but you cant see where your mounting it because it's a solid steel wheel. So chances are that you might chip the brake or something. I wouldnt put the donut one the fron if I were you. Now I am going to the dealer with my proof and boy am I gonna lay it on em.
