Will this work for my 2006 6MT Coupe? (Currently have the 19 inch wheels with staggered tires)

225/50/17 fronts Blizzak LM-22
235/50/17 rears Blizzak LM-22

ASA JH3 wheels: (4) 17x7.5"

Is that ok? Or do I need the rear wheels to be larger than 7.5" wide?

And what offset size do I need? 20, 32, 35, 38, 40, 42, 43, 45, 48, or 50?

That should probably be fine, though your TPS (tire pressure sensor) may still come on.

I had 225/40/17 all around. Ran ok, but TPS light was on.

The JH3's should work, assuming those are the wheels that I think they are.

yes, or you can shut it off yourself (press a button). Like I said, the light is merely annoying.

On the other hand, the dealer might ask why your light came on, and when you tell them you're not using OEM tire sizes, they might try to void some future work based on that (which would be total bogus).

 

Mordak, you should be fine with that set up...its not the rim size that will trigger the vdc light, it would be the rear tire diameter.

I have 7.5 aftermarket rims w/Dunlop Winter Sport M3 snows, all 225/55/17.

I have never had a problem with VDC/ABS lights going off. Occassionally the TPS (tire pressure sensor) will come on after 40 miles of constant driving, but it resets after I restart the car.

Hope this helps you out.....if in doubt check with TIRE RACK, they will be glad to answer any questions you may have. I think they recommend 225/ front and 255 rear.....I may be wrong, its been a while since I researched snow tires.

I was wondering...how would 19 blizzaks work. i think a coupe would look weird with 17s on it.

 

The base model G comes with 17" so they probably don't look that abnormal.
I have the 17" ASA JH3's (and 18" for summer) but the ASA's don't wear that well in the winter. The finish is coming off the center pieces, the inner part of the rims are pitted and the fronts are stained from the brake dust (I've tried 3 different products to clean them but it won't come off). They're Ok for winter I guess - better than steelies.

i have not put 17s on it since mine came with 19s...and i am putting 20s on them. now to go from 20s to 17s....i think its too small

if u already have stock rims, might as well put tires on them no matter what the size.

i think what im doin is the stock 19s with blizzaks and then my 20s will have the falkens on them

 

I would check...I had to sell all my 17" rims b/c my 05 Coupe, with the Sport 19" rims stock...would not let 17" rims clear the dual piston calipers up front...I can fit my 16" drag radials out back...barely...but 17" rims would not come close to clearing the fronts...

 

I'm a little surprised by that. The '05 sedans have the same brakes, and 17's fit them just fine.

 

I had Moda 6 Rims from the Tire Rack...it was not even close...and they were 17x9 I believe....but it's all in the spacing I guess...

So are you saying you are 200% sure the 17" Coupe rims from say 2003-2004 will fit the 2005-2006 Coupes w/the sport package and 19" oem rims?

If so that would be great b/c of the cost savings to pick up some old Coupe rims that are 17".

 

I can't say 200% but as long as they fit over Brembo's, I'm sure they'll fit over '05/'06 brakes since the Brembos were a tick larger.
Maybe you can find somebody local to test fit one of their wheels before you go looking for a set.
I've also heard of guys using 350Z 17's for winter wheels.
