anybody else clock cant keep time?
I always keep my nav up so I dont look at the analog clock but when I do I notice that it is usually 10 minutes behind my watch, cell phone, and nav. The other problem even though its not a big one is my passenger heated seat doesnt work. The light goes on but it doesnt warm. Anyone else have either of these problems?

Re: anybody else clock cant keep time?
Do you mean somone has to be sitting in the seat for it to work. If thats what your saying mine still doesnt work. Last week it was very cold out and I had my girlfriend with me and I turned both on high without telling her. As my *** got hotter and hotter she said nothing. When I asked her if she could feel it she said no nothing. I didnt believe her cuz of the blonde on her hear so when we got to her house I got in the seat and it was warm at all.

Re: anybody else clock cant keep time?
one more strange thing for heating seats, when i turn on heating seats right after engine starts, it works perfect but if i leave car for like 5min without turning off engine and heating seats, when i come back, it doesn't heat anymore(it just feel like someone was seating on my seat for while not like actually heating seats worked like b4))... and it just don't work even though i turn off heating seats and turn back on... if figured out this yesterday... if that happen, i need to turn my engine off and turn it on again... very strange or mine is defected???
Re: anybody else clock cant keep time?
I've yet to use my heated seats. No need so far in So Cal haha. But my clock is fine.. I dont' get ur problem with ur clock? If its always 10 min slow, set it to the right time.. Are you saying that it always becomes 10 min slow??

Re: anybody else clock cant keep time?
Yeah, I just looked at my clock and it's exactly an hour off. Y'know, I find it inexcusable that a nearly $40k car can't... oh, wait, nevermind.

Re: anybody else clock cant keep time?
There is a TSB (recall) on seat heater wiring harness. I just had my my dealer do it and it took about an hour. Now the seat heaters work just fine. They also have one on the clock, but I think it was for the sedan only and had something to do with it not lighting up well at night. They might replace the clock under warranty if it's not keeping time well. Mine seems to keep time just fine, except for this morning when it was an hour ahead...wait that's do to the time change.

This is why living in Indiana has its benefits-- no Daylight savings crap. The fact that it was enacted to give farmers extra harvesting time, then one of thr larger farming states says "That's just dumb. We'll just get up an hour ealier" really says something

Lol, Geo I don't think that's completely true.
The real purpose of Daylight Savings Time is for more effective use of the sun. We adjust our clocks so we get the most sunlight, which saves energy. Farmers don't like it because chickens operate based on the crack of dawn and it takes them several weeks to get used to the one hour change of the clocks.

Re: anybody else clock cant keep time?
Farmers began using the idea of Daylight Savings in 1883, after the railroads had standardized "Time Zones". They began enacting laws in smaller municipalities to allow them to use their time more effectively during harvest season.
In 1916, the British decided in an act of Parliment that they could save energy by enacting this old system. They enacted "British Summer Time", which actually is a two hour difference.
In 1966 (Uniform Time Act), we were all told to set our clocks ahead/back on certain dates to sve energy. Unfortunately, the 1% savings we were finding in the 1966 has dwindled to virtually nothing over the pas 30+ years.
A recent study in California leaned towards actually enacting year-round daylight savings, however they neglected to mention that a) November-February negate the savings found in other months, as they are the darkest months of the year, and any savings in the evening are chewed up in the morning; b) they were using decades-old data that didn't include many of the "superstructure" buildings that draw a good portion of power.
I don't think there really is a good argument for it anymore, seeing as the savings are actually negated. But hey, if it gives us all a warm, fuzzy feeling...

more perks of indiana are no front license plates and the fact that you can tell where people are from based on the first 2 numbers of their plate. with that little trick, you know if the slow-driving person in front of you is a clueless tourist or an annoying local. lol... I was about to say "Tourists in Indianapolis?" but then I realized it's the biggest convention city between Vegas and NY. They're always coming in from those podunk towns with tractors and stuff... erg.

IS300ToG35, I think you'll find the seats are thermostaticly controlled -- which means that once they reach a temperature, the heating elements will shut off until the seat temp lowers to a certain point again.
The switch that we turn on for heated seats allows the thermostat to take over and control how much the seat warms and cycles on and off to maintain the high heat setting or low setting which ever is chosen.
The seat warmers don't work (on mine anyway) without the engine running.
I don't know if both seats will heat without a person being in the seat. I think they will as in prewarming the car by remote, (Hi GeoBau), so not sure about the passenger seat no heat issue. It may be defective. Check out the TSB at the dealer about this. On some G's they've found defective and incorrectly wired switches that operate the wrong seat heater.
The clock either keeps good time or it doesn't. If not then have it replaced.

Re: anybody else clock cant keep time?
I found that when I leave my seat heater on and remote-start, it's nice and toasty by the time I get out. This is with about a 5 minute headstart, FYI. It's gotten bitterly cold in Indy in the past few days, so I've taken to starting the car when the check arrives at dinner, etc. With a 1/4 mile TX/RX range, it starts and then sends me a signal to let me know it's running... if you're in a cold climate, this is a GREAT mod. It also works in the summer when you can run the AC and get the car nice and cool before you get to it.
As for the clock, I'm with GSM-- it works or it doesn't. It took me a week to notice my clock was off after I'd done an ECU reset, as my Navi's always up. Why don't you start making a log of the time the clock says vs. what your phone does. Check to see if it's just losing 1 minute a day, etc. or if it's erratic. If it's erratic, it could be a loose wire.
