Looks like recent success has prompted Nissan to consider expanding the Infiniti brand to all the major world markets. Probably the bigger reason for it is that Toyota is doing the same with Lexus. Or maybe they're just frustrated that they spend all that money on marketing their brands, only to see American owners rebadge their G35s into Skylines and Japanese owners rebadge their Skylines into G35s.
