Loose Cable... what is it?
Hey Guys,
I was washing my G35 Coupe today and I noticed that underneath where the electrical wiring is located by the pedals, this cable was just dangling there. I've never noticed it before so I was hoping you guys can tell me what it is and if it's supposed to be connected, and if so to what? Thanks!

Okay, I realize I'm fairly new to this forum, but is there any reason why all the answer are being ridiculous?

Having thought about it again, tho, I'd have to say the receiving connector couldn't be far off. The pigtail isn't very long, so if you get in there and get behind the fuse door, you should be able to come up with it.
Even up above the clutch should be within reach of that, but certainly behind that fuse door, and even behind the fuse block which will have 2 mounting screws.
Bear in mind tho, that some connectors aren't used in our rides.....this all depends of options and different models, and sometimes means that there are leftover and unused connectors that can come loose and into view.
BTW, has anything stopped working? lights or functions? That may give you a hint as to where to look.
If all else fails, a quick visit to the dealer would be all you'd need for a definitive answer.
Best of luck, and when you do find out what it is, let us know too would you.
I'm sure everyone is wondering too....

whoa, very strange find. anyway, i'd agree with the other guy. when i did the clutch pedal height mod, i removed that fuse box door completely and saw a bunch of places back there where you snap in harnesses. it must have come out from back there somehow, from hitting a bump or something was loose to begin with.
basically, just look around in there for something open...it must have come loose from where in the vicinity since the wire is so short...pull the wire in all directions as far as it can go and this tells you all the possible places you should look within that circumference to look for open connectors. good luck

The first thing that I would do is to check to make certain that everything works. I suspect that the answer will be yes, and then it could be a wire for some option that you don't have. Without a wiring diagram, we will all be just guessing.

Another thought: It's the connector that used on the foot operated emergency brake in auto equipped g's.
If that's the case, then it's just come loose from where it was tucked into amongst other wires.
Colin.
