Re: '04 6MT tranny problems?
just FYI, i looked at some figures a while back and it appeared that less than 2% of the 03 6MT coupes had a transmission problem. I believe that of those the vast majority were the very early 03 build ones.

Not mine. I have a 04', the first 04 production model that I picked up in August. It seems if i'm doing about 50-60 in 4th gear while shifting to 5th i get a very hard vibration in the shifter which seems like a grind. Third gear does the same sometimes. I'm now at about 2600 mi

Re: '04 6MT tranny problems?
I did about 1000 miles last week, so I am at 2K for the first month. After about 600 miles the shifter really loosened up. It shifts really slick now and I don't notice any of the notchiness others talk about. My 5th to 6th shifting is also getting very smooth now. Normally I swap my transmission fluid to Redline MT90 to get better shifting, but the OEM fluid seems slick enough with this car.
Other than that, I do need to readjust my clutch pedal. First, the pedal height is too high. Second, mine picks up right at the top of the pedal. I plan to readjust the pickup point and travel stop(switch) later this week.

Mine was built in May and I have about 2600 miles on it now. I did switch to Royal Purple at 1200 miles and have to comment that the shifting is very good, especially at high rpms. Most cars get harder to shift near redline, but mine gets easier. Still a bit stiff on the 1-2 shifts when cold though.

Uh, lets see...i have about 2,600 miles on my G, and this thing is feeling not to good....the Shifting is notchy, the clutch makes weird noises when idleing, and when i sum times push the clutch down it makes a dumping clunk noises....doesnt sound good at all...
i am so afraid that this damn tranny is going to go out... it just shouldnt feel like this, or sound like this when it has less than 3,000 miles on a 2004....i hate infiniti....haha jk, but if the tranny does go out...i really will...peace
