Problem with gas cap!

Ok today was the 3rd time I filled up the G with gas and It also was the 3rd time that the gas cap wasn't fully sealed prior to filling up. the last time I filled her I made to sure the cap was sealed cause I turned it until it clicked like 7-10 times. now today I open her up and all I did was pull the cap off....didn't even have to turn it to the left. what's up with that?!?! no wonder my gas mileage is no where near the 380 per tank....it's being evaporated into thin air. anyone else have the the same problem?? should I get an aftermarket cap or have the dealer replace it with another OEM one?
Thanks!!

You are joking about your gas evaporating, right?

is your Check Engine Light on? Because if the gas cap leaks then the light will turn on. Dealer said it not me, so don't kill me for that fact.

its true, it will throw the light on, and it will go away after a few drives once you tighten your cap back up again. As far as the cap not sealing, I think you should just go to the dealer.

Ghost cap................booooooo

If you put it on that tight on last fill I would be
concerned that someone is getting into your tank.
Or that you have a defective cap and the stealership
should replace it for ya........your choice!

If I'm not mistaken, it only takes a fraction of a turn to unlock the cap.
If you put in on, tighten it until it clicks, you can't do any better than that.
Besides, like the others have said, if the cap were loose and leaking air, it would generate a Check Engine Light.

Have the dealer check the cap to be sure.

C.

I got my record, but had some highway driving last fillup, 399.2 and put in 18.12 gallons. Most of the time is only ~300.

No, I don't have any "check engine" lights that are on.....I guess I'll have to take it to the dealer.....about the 380 miles per tank....I'm just relaying what Infiniti says. that the 6MT is 19 MPG and with a 20 gallon tank it should come "close" to 380 miles. NOW....before someone says something smart, I know it's an estimate and it also depends on the driver and the driving style. thanks!!
