Hey, if you were a dipshxt engineer how would you get your kix?

Definately lousy but not too bad once you get used to it. I really like it on a fresh fill of synth when you can hardly see the oil on the indicator as it's almost clear.

My new VW has a very handy dipstick with a bright orange indicator attached to a flexible heavy gauge cable. Best I've seen and used.

$40,000 car and a $80 dipstick that will take you 5 years to put back in and another 2 more to realize its not in all the way cause the stupid engineer at Nissan failed basic engineering 5 times in a row and made that stupid stick cause he thought it was cool

^^^^wow what a run on.

That is a great idea...I would buy one.

Does any one know if the dipstick on other Nissan/Infiniti cars is the same? Multiple applications would be the key to a smart re-design.

For all the beauty and inspiration in the design of the Coupe, the engineers must have been on crack when they designed the oil dipstick! WTF?

Not to mention that it is nearly impossible to extract and insert this dipstick without problems--twist, push, pull, bend!!!

Why does it need to be so complex? What's wrong with a simple "stick" that pulls straight out?

Maybe there's a legit mechanical reason for this--please, someone tell me.
LOL, no reason I can think of. All they needed to do was make the d/stick tube a little longer as well as the dipstick itself and VOILA....> Useable. , even with all the twists and bends in it.

At least most of the 'stupid stuff' went into one thing.-- the blasted dipstick.

I can see where they got the name for it......after the guy that designed it.

C.
