Does the paint on your hood feel funny?
Does the paint on your hood feel funny?
I gave my car a good bath today then a light McGuirres show finish the car looks good. But for some reason the hood is not as slick to the touch as other body parts.. I swear.
Now at night if I take a flash light and look real close I see little dots but the finish looks good. IS this by design?
Thanks for your time

When I apply Zaino Z2 it does feel different from the other parts of the car, bumper sides etc...but still seems fine...I don't know why the finish is different...could be because it's aluminum...

Most likely the hood had been somewhat "sandblasted" by you driving the car. Meaning, it has to endure all the force of the wind and all it's debris (dirt, sand, etc.). Yes, my hood feels a little rough too. However, I clay bar'ed it and sure enough, it's smooth again. Next time you wash your car, clay the hood, then put some nice coat of wax on it, maybe even two for good measure.
DON'T use dish washer soap to wash your car. It drys out the plastics. Like every other person said, use clay, I would then use a polish to clean off any excess residue left by clay and to give it a more depth shine, then wax.
