I have an '02 G35 Coupe and the paint on the plastic around the gear shifter boot is wrinkled.

the part that goes around the shifter is plastic and painted silver... on the passanger side (where the molding is the skinniest) the paint got all wrinkled like the paint didn't adhear to the plastic....

the dealer replaced it and less than a month later, the replacement piece is wrinkled in the same place...

anyone else have this happen or do i have crazy luck?

the car is garaged 3 days a week so it's not direct sun... the windows are tinted pretty darn dark... and it has been the same spot both times.

anyone offer any info?

ive never seen a 02 g35

 

you might be the only one with an 02 coupe...sounds like heat is getting through from the shifter, make sure the insulation cover is there
