PayPal is bad news sometimes... they will try to find any possible way to not cover you, but if you "fulfill" all the requirements for buyer protection they will eventually refund you.

Open up a dispute and then open a claim once the dispute is open... if they do not respond within 2 weeks they should give you your money back

talking to the paypal CS is useless.. they make no decisions .. only notes on the dispute or claim.

if you open up the claim online their claims department will handle it properly (hopefully)

did you not have a paypal account already? how did you know they made a paypal account, did they tell you? Sounds like they don't have a way to accept credit cards except through paypal so they tried to setup an account for you to pay them. Just set one up yourself and pay them using that account

wow, that's weird... just tell them to cancel the order.. it is not worth the hassle. tell them it did go through and to issue you a refund. if they say no then open up the dispute, but I would open the dispute up anyway... better safe than sorry

Thats sucks! Paypal will take forever getting that crap taken care of. They usually want you to file a claim within 48 hours. But hell that is straight up fraud if they made an account for you. Did you get an email from paypal about your new account? Someone had to supply a valid email. Maybe that will help.

that is not true, they require a certain period of time to pass after the transaction before you can open a dispute/claim

if i remember correctly it is 10 days?

Actually he said give it 48 hours to wait for any contact from the company and then they would take care of the rest! But you have a better chance of getting your money back right away then waiting. He said the call dropped. I would be calling back immediately

hmm I stand corrected... The 10 days must only be for EBay auction transactions... I've had 5 too many ppl try to scam me/have scammed me over the summer... luckily I recovered all the money thanks to paypal... took about a month and a half for each one
