Hi all,
I've read from quite a few posters here bringing their own synthetic oil and filter to the oil changle place to get it done. Well, I asked my local Tire Kingdown (where I always take my cars) and the manager told me that it will cost me the same if I bring my own oil and filter, so I thought it was BS.

I am planning on buying my own Mobil1 synthetic (5w30?) oil and my own oil filter (dunno which yet) for my next oil change. My question is, where are you guys taking your cars with your own oil/filter to get it done and how much are you paying for the labor?

I live in the Hillsboro/441 (NW Broward county) area, very close to Coconut Creek Infiniti.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't switched to synthetic yet, but I'm sure Coconut Creek Infiniti will give you a break on the price if you byo. I just had my oil/filter changed there last week for $27.95.

Honest to God, the oil change on a G35 is so damn eeeeeasy, why wouldn't any self respecting "driving enthusiast" just do it himself instead of paying someone?

I tried to find the information on changing the oil and filter myself here but couldn't find. Someone could post the link?

Actually, changing the oil and filter on an NSX can't be any easier. Jack it up, remove the rear wheel, and presto the filter and drain bolt are out in 45 seconds. Removing the cover and getting to the pan and filter in the G is a PITA, and for $27 I'd rather have a dealer gopher do it. Plus I'm getting too lazy and my G35C is leased.

Agree, I used to do it myself all the time until I got a back injury with surgery and all. I could still do it but it would hurt a lot, so I choose not to. I miss it though.

For $65 i just go to my Mobil 1 quick oil change place and i drive in, pick my oil, pick my mobil1 filter, get a free a/c tube stuck in my car to keep me cool while my car is off. Get a free drink of my choice and go about my way once its done. 15min. no hassle of making stops at autozone then dealing with other *******s at tire kingdom or other places.

I had mine done at Nissan dealership, Infiniti an hour away. When they finished they "hooked me up" with a free car wash. I own a black car and they ran it through the damn auto carwash. Retards. I almost strangeled the service writer. Then when it came back out the carwash borke my lisence place blackout cover to top it off. I'll be doing oil changes myself fron now on. I guess my anger management classes are working. I left there without punching anyone! yeah!!!
