door lock broken?!?!

i have a 04 coupe. i noticed that my door lock on the driver's side wasn't unlocking on the first press of the key fob. i would have to press it twice, sometimes it wouldn't unlock at all and i would have to go through the passenger side and manually unlock it. from playing around with it, it seems like whatever device that unlocks the door is weak. when i sit inside the car and press the lock/unlock button, i can see it barely moving..but the passenger door is flipping open and close. has anyone had this problem? i'm gonna make an appointment with the dealer this week.

i have the same problem on my passenger side. my car is out of warranty so i am going to try to replace teh door lockc assembly myself. if you are under warranty i would just get the dealer to fix it.

it's probably a weak door lock actuator, if not try to lube all the linkage and door locks.

yup...dealer said it's the door actuator that's bad and it's a common problem. they ordered the part so i should have my car back tomorrow evening. they also replaced both door window motors. i had that auto rollup problem where it goes all the way up and then down about 2/3 the way. freaking annoying. passenger side did it twice in the past, driver's side first time. this is a sign that the motor is going out and that there's a short in it. anywayz..its freeeeeeee. i need to practice drifting in my loaner. =)
