slip light staying on w/ vdc "off" and drifting around
this is interesting read, considering people who go to the drag strip were complaining about the TCS being on when VDC is off, while they either took the VDC fuse out or some others in attempt to shut the TCS off, I wonder how would you induce the shut off of the TCS prior to the drag strip without either doing a donut or taking out the fuse?

I drove about 1/4 mile down the street to the gas station, pulled in to get a Red Bull, shut the car off and pulled the parking brake up. When I got back into the car and restarted it, the damned VDC "Off" light AND the "Slip" light were still on, and when I released the parking brake, the "Brake" light stayed on.
I have tried to cycle the ignition, (I've turned it on and off numerous times), and none of the three lights have turned off yet
. It's been almost three hours now since this occurred, and I just went out and checked the car, and all three lights are still on, (yes, I remembered to release the parking brake).
So far, everyone who has posted about this situation occurring has stated that they:
1.) Had their VDC switch turned "off"
2.) Restarted their car and the system reset itself
I am the exception, and I'm concerned. I had NOT turned my VDC off and my car won't seem to reset itself when I cycle the key. (Not to mention I have pissed off my parking brake and it's light is now staying on)
.
Any idea's of what I did, or what's going on?
Again: did not have the VDC turned off when this occurred!

Similar thing happened to me tonight. Running pretty fast on an exit ramp trying to make the light. Hit the brakes hard when I didn't make it and the brake light came on followed by the slip and vdc off lights. The brake light went out before the light turned green. Car handled fine. Decided to hit the brakes hard again at which time the brake light came on and stayed on (now all three lights are on). Got home and found this thread.
Turned car off and on, no luck.
Checked the brake fluid and it was half way between min and max. Filled it up with DOT 3 fluid to 3/4 (or so) between min and max and all three lights went out! Took it on a test drive involving quick stops and getting the slip light to turn on when cornering hard while applying the gas. No brake light came on, no vdc off light and the slip light went off normally when I was back in a straight line. Problem solved! Now I just have to watch it to see if I have a leak or if it is normal brake pad wear.
